NCFE Developing Enterprise Skills

Course Overview

The qualification consolidates learners’ existing knowledge of enterprise, and allows them to take this one step further through the planning, participating and evaluation of a substantial enterprise project. The qualification aims to help learners develop an awareness of their own enterprise skills and for them to evaluate their own skills, identify areas for improvement and create a plan for development. The objectives of these qualifications are to help learners develop an awareness of their own skills, and becoming more enterprising with education, life and work.

This qualification is offered at this college at the following level(s):

NCFE Level 2 Certificate in Developing Enterprise Skills (601/4146/3)

Duration

- 6 weeks to 3 months

Course Content

Examples of the units/subjects studied will be:

  • Exploring enterprise skills
  • Plan and carry out an enterprise project
  • Evaluate enterprise project and skills

This course can be done in combination with your Certificate in Employability Skills qualification as your optional qualification. Students will have the possibility to do assignments, projects, practical work and study subjects.

Entry Requirements

At Level 2, four GCSEs at grade E (grade 2) or above (to include maths and English), or successful completion of any suitable Level 1 qualification (e.g. Level 1 Certificate in Employability Skills). Also, the learner must not already have a full qualification at Level 3 or higher.

All applicants will undergo an initial assessment in literacy and numeracy.

Places will be offered following a satisfactory interview. Applicants will be expected to demonstrate enthusiasm and commitment to the chosen subject area.

Progression

Learners who achieve these qualifications could progress to:

  • NCFE Level 3 Diploma in Skills for Business: Enterprise
  • NCFE Level 3 Diploma in Skills for Business
  • NCFE Level 3 Certificate in Employability Skills
  • NCFE Level 3 Diploma in Business Administration
  • Employment in the entertainment/enterprise industry
